Mia Agraviador was six years old when she became known for the Spanish catchphrase, “Porque no los dos?”
Soon, the phrase became a meme for any topic of conversation that required a decision to be made.
Now she’s in her 20s and living in Sydney. She proudly calls herself the “taco girl”. While she’s grown out her iconic bangs, she hasn’t really changed that much!

Her Instagram bio reads, “Hi! Yes, I’m the ‘Porque No Los Dos?’ Taco Girl”.
However, in an interview with Pedestrian from November 2019, Agraviador said she used to feel uncomfortable when people would bring up the advert. Particularly when she was growing up.
“I was still in primary school,” she said. “People in my class saw it and then suddenly more and more people would ask ‘Were you on that ad?’ I remember being a little bit shy at the time.

“I actually didn’t like that attention. I really had a time where I didn’t like it and I felt really uncomfortable and upset if anyone talked about it.”
In her spare time, Agraviador is a keen painter. When she was 15, one of her paintings — a portrait of her brother — was chosen as a finalist for the Young Archibald Prize.
She told Pedestrian she was painting long “before taco time”.

Though Agraviador left the acting world behind as a child, she is “still happy” to do commercials.
She has appeared in ads for the Australian furniture brand Koala, and has even returned to help Old El Paso launch their Double Layer Taco two years ago.
The product involved placing a hard taco shell inside a soft shell, fulfilling her suggestion from around 18 years ago and giving you the best of both options.

The former child actress said at the time that she can’t believe she has returned nearly 16 years later to celebrate the brand which made her famous.
“I would have never imagined that I’d be back more than 15 years later, recreating the tagline that played such a huge role in my life – especially for a taco trend that has gone viral on TikTok!” Agraviador said.
“It’s always so surreal when I’m out and about with friends and family, at lunch or the shops, and we hear people ask ‘por qué no los dos’ when deciding between two things.

“It’s really become a national catchphrase. I also have Latino heritage and love all Central and South American inspired foods, so I’m super proud that I get to carry that with me.”
But that’s not the only Mexican product she’s attached her name to.
The now 24-year-old was also recently an ambassador for seasoning brand Mingle, promoting their Mexican-inspired offerings.

“Every time I think this is over it just keeps popping up again,” she told Today in 2024.
“I just think ‘Okay, when is this going to die down?’ And then a couple months or even a week or a year later, ‘oh, here we go!’
“I’m very grateful that whole time of my life was…it just happened, and I’ve had so many opportunities come from that.”
