'Old friend': Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon reunite after 36 years

There was no shortage of TV and film reunions at The Golden Globes this year, kicking off with this moment between Mamma Mia! co-stars, Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried.

Streep ran up to Seyfried to give her a kiss on the cheek in a quick red carpet moment, leaving her on-screen daughter shocked.

Streep was a 2024 Golden Globe nominee for her supporting role in Only Murders in the Building, while Seyfried was there to present.

Both stars have expressed their interest in reprising their roles in Mamma Mia!

Streep told Vogue “I’ll have to schedule a knee scoping before we film, but if there’s an idea that excites me, I’m totally there.”

She then added she had some ideas of her own for the role.

“I told [producer Judy Craymer] if she could figure out a way to reincarnate Donna, I’m into that,” Streep said. “Or it could be like in one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals it was really her twin sister that died.”

Seyfried added: “Nobody is saying no, but nobody is saying yes either, the powers that be probably can’t afford us to be honest. I hate to say it, because would I do Mamma Mia 3 for free – of course I would – but that’s not the business we’re in.”

“What’s fair is fair, and I feel like a third film is gonna come down to something stupid like whether or not Universal wants to pay the money.”
